About the IS220UCSAH1A
The IS220UCSAH1A is a processor/controller created by General Electric for the Mark VI system. The Mark VI platform is designed to manage gas or steam turbines and was released by General Electric as part of the Speedtronic series. While previous iterations of the General Electric Mark-type product series (including the initial Mark I series) were limited to gas and steam turbine applications, certain Mark VI series products (including this IS220UCSAH1A modular component) may have been expanded to control and management systems for wind turbines compatible with General Electric products. This IS220UCSAH1A device is not actually an original design product for its specific Mark VI series functional role; as that would be considered the IS220UCSAH1 PAMC Acoustic Monitor Processor Module, the Mark A Class Primary Functional Product Revision for this IS220UCSAH1A device is not used.
Hardware Tips and Specifications
As with any Mark Series product in our extended new and refurbished inventory, the expected Mark Series features of this IS220UCSAH1A unit are made possible by its special assembly accepting a unique set of hardware components and specifications. The IS220UCSAH1A is a single boxed assembly with a front panel for connecting communications, two screw mounts on the rear edge, and grille openings on three sides for air circulation. The controller is designed for base mounting within a cabinet. Up to three assemblies can be mounted adjacent to each other, creating a compact arrangement that can easily service a triple redundant system. It features an HMI (Human Machine Interface) with software designed for running heavy duty turbines, such as the CIMPLICITY graphical interface. The IS220UCSAH1A runs on the QNX operating system and features a Freescale 8349, 667 MHz processor. The board uses a power supply rated at 18-36 V dc, 12 Watts. The board can be used in temperatures from 0 to 65 degrees Celsius, and does not require fan cooling even at the highest temperature rating. The board can be used in NFPA Class 1, Class 2 applications.
The front panel of the IS220UCSAH1A has six female jack connectors, a USB port, and several LED indicators. This includes an LED indicator labeled Link/Act on the left side of the front panel, and a row of indicators labeled Power, Boot, Online, Flash, DC, and Diag in the middle of the panel. The jack connector is used for Ethernet connectivity, allowing the board to communicate with other MKVI, MKVIe, or EX2100 exciter controllers, as well as maintenance and operator stations. While not all of the original instruction manual material for this IS220UCSAH1A Mark Series unit is available online for research purposes, it does benefit from original General Electric manufacturing in that it has the IS220UCSAH1A Functional Product Number, which details many of the relevant hardware specifications through a series of functional naming segments established by General Electric. First, the IS220UCSAH1A product number begins with the dual-function IS220 series label, which indirectly represents the special modular Mark VI series assembly of this IS220UCSAH1A PCB and where it was originally manufactured. Some other relevant hardware details included in the IS220UCSAH1A functional product number include this IS220UCSAH1A modular assembly:
UCSA functional product abbreviation
Conformal PCB coating style
First group Mark VI series product grouping
Class A major functional product revision
